All Just The Facts workbooks are based on discovery and spiral learning theories. These 'student-friendly' books are perfect for private lessons, beginning orchestra students, or the adult student wanting to understand the theory behind the notes.

Each instrument specific workbook has twelve 2-page lessons, 2 pages of rhythmic exercises, a fingering chart and a FACT page. There are currently 3 levels for each instrument.

VIOLIN PRIMER (1st year students, ages 5-8)

Beginning book for young students. Large staffs for small hands, fun alphabet activities, & introduction to naming open string notes on the Treble staff: G, D, A & E. Note values quarter through whole, time signatures, bar lines and writing counts.

My students like the JTF II series far better than any other book I've used to teach CM theory. They tell me they enjoy doing their theory homework, and sometimes do extra pages voluntarily.  The previous series I used presented too much information at once and students often felt overwhelmed by the explanation pages.  Another problem was that since each topic was presented only once, they had forgotten the topics studied in the fall by the time the CM exam rolled around in the Spring.  Thanks for a great series.
